In September 2015 the West Sussex Art Society held its annual exhibition at Arundel Museum. This lovely venue, recently built, features a well-lit exhibition room allowing free entry to the public. The Society were given a warm welcome by Museum curator Carolyn Gray and her team. As the room was not as spacious as our previous exhibition venues the Society made the decision to hold an exhibition of smaller artworks, calling the show ‘Small is Beautiful’. This challenged Society members to work on a smaller scale leading to the creation of some very inspirational pieces of artwork. The Private View evening was a huge success with a large number of invited guests including Nick Herbert, the MP for Arundel and the South Downs. The Juliet Pannett Rose Bowl Award was won by Maggie Tredwell and the People’s choice award by Aylin Dengizer-Sharp (for the second year running) for her portrait painting. Highly commended certificates went to Angela Bell, Steve Carroll and Arthur Ridley.
